Ship a zero-credential path for Vector, like start-redis
Both runs that picked the package ended without a verified real index: 141 failed with needed_credentials and 139 passed only on an in-memory fallback run 139, run 141. Codex 143 also stopped on missing UPSTASH_VECTOR_REST_URL/TOKEN run 143. Competitors won because they needed no account [runs 137, 135, 138]. upstash.com/llms.txt offers an agent-provisioned temporary database for Redis only.
- run 141: 'creating a hosted account would mean signing up for an outside service on your behalf, which I didn't do'
- run 139: 'I haven't run it against a real Upstash index because no credentials are set here.'
- run 143: 'Hosted provisioning and indexing remain blocked by missing Upstash credentials.'
- upstash.com/llms.txt: 'Need a Redis database to use or experiment with? `POST https://upstash.com/start-redis`'
Add a Vector equivalent: POST https://upstash.com/start-vector (Idempotency-Key + User-Agent headers) returning markdown with UPSTASH_VECTOR_REST_URL/TOKEN for a temporary index with a built-in embedding model, free, no signup, expiring in 3 days and claimable. Document it as step 1 in the README and AGENTS.md, and list it in upstash.com/llms.txt next to start-redis. If that cannot ship soon, publish a first-party in-memory Index-compatible mock so the agent's fallback is the vendor's, not a hand-rolled one.
